5-(2,6-Dimethoxyphenyl)-3-methylpyrrolidin-2-one was prepared from ethyl 4-amino-4-(2,6-dimethoxyphenyl)-2-methylbutanoate according to the procedure described for 6-(2,6-dimethoxyphenyl)piperidin-2-one. Subsequent purification by FC (DCM/MeOH=20/1) afforded 5-(2,6-dimethoxyphenyl)-3-methylpyrrolidin-2-one as a light orange solid. LC-MS (conditions D): tR=0.84 min.; [M+H]+: 236.43 g/mol.
