To methyl 1-tert-butyl-5-methyl-3-(pyridin-4-yl)-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-1H-indazole-5-carboxylate (1.1 g, 3.5 mmol) in THF (20 mL) was added LiOH (1 M, 10 mL, 10 mmol) and the reaction was heated at 80° C. for overnight. After removal of THF, HCl (1 N) was added until pH˜4 to 5. The product precipitated as white solid and was collected by filtration (1.0 g). LC-MS found 314.19 (M+H)
