tert-butyl 4-(2,4,5-trifluoro-3-(hydroxymethyl)phenyl)piperazine-1-carboxylate (180 mg, 0.52 mmol) was reacted under the standard conditions with PBr3 in DCM (see Example 189, Step ii) to give tert-butyl 4-(3-(bromomethyl)-2,4,5-trifluorophenyl)piperazine-1-carboxylate (57 mg).
