255 gm of 1-(3'-amino-phenyl)-2-amino-propane were dissolved in methanol, and the solution was acidified with ethereal hydrochloric acid. The monohydrochloride thus obtained was refluxed for 2 hours in 225 ml of formic acid, and the reaction mixture was then evaporated in a water aspirator vacuum, leaving a yellow oil which solidified upon being digested with ether. The solidified product was recrystallized from ethanol by addition of ether, yielding the compound of the formula ##STR15## which had a melting point of 150°-153° C.
