3-Chloro-benzenecarboperoxoic acid (c.a. 60%, 198 mg, 0.69 mmol) is added to a solution of 5-(2,6-diethyl-phenyl)-1-(1-propyl-butyl)-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-c]pyridine (200 mg, 0.057 mmol) in DCM (4 mL), and the mixture is stirred for 30 min at room temperature. The mixture is washed with a saturated aqueous Na2CO3 solution, brine, dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated under reduced pressure. Chromatography of the residue on silica gel (EtOAc) gives 5-(2,6-diethyl-phenyl)-1-(1-propyl-butyl)-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-c]pyridine 6-oxide as a white solid.
