Procedure
To a solution of 4-Fluoro-3-nitro-benzoic acid (1.00 g, 5.40 mmol) dissolved in 1,2-dichloroethane (30 mL) was added SOCl2 (6.42 g, 54.0 mmol). The reaction mixture was then heated to 80° C. for 16 hrs. At this time the reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature and the solvent removed under vacuum to provide the title product.
