The product from Example 6a (5.0 g, 175 mmol) was reacted with 4-methoxy-benzenethiol (2.45 g, 175 mmol) for 18 h following the procedure from Example 6b giving 1-(4-methoxy-phenylsulfanyl)-4-methyl-2-nitro-benzen, which was reduced with SnCl2 following the procedure from Example 5I giving 2-(4-Methoxy-phenylsulfanyl)-5-methyl-phenylamine.
