A mixture of 2-(((2S,3R)-1-(5-(4-fluorophenyl)-2-methylthiazole-4-carbonyl)-3-methylpiperidin-2-yl)methyl)isoindoline-1,3-dione (130 mg, 272 μmol) and hydrazine hydrate (67 μL, 1.36 mmol) in MeOH (3 mL) was heated at reflux for 2 h. The mixture was cooled and the solvent was removed in vacuo. The crude was dissolved in EtOAc and washed with 2 N NaOH (2×) and brine. The organic solution was dried over anhydrous Na2SO4. The solvent was removed to obtain the title compound which was used without further purification. MS (ESI) 348 (M+H).
