To the mixture of 5-methyl-2-(6-methylpyridin-2-yl)benzoic acid (0.229 g, 0.868 mmol), tert-butyl (((2S,3R)-3-methylpiperidin-2-yl)methyl)carbamate (0.24 g, 1.04 mmol) and DIPEA (0.3 mL, 1.738 mmol) in DCM (20 mL) was slowly added O-(benzotriazol-1-yl)-N,N,N′,N′-tetramethyluronium tetrafluoroborate (TBTU; 0.278 g, 0.869 mmol). The mixture was stirred at rt for 1 h. The mixture was diluted with DCM and was washed with satd. aq. NaHCO3 and brine and dried over Na2SO4. The solvent was removed in vacuo to obtain the title compound which was used without further purification. ESI-MS (m/z): 438 [M+1]+.
