Procedure
To a solution of 2.900 g (18.169 mmol) of 4,5,6,7-tetrahydrofuro[3,2-c]pyridine hydrochloride and 12.7 ml (90.8 mmol) of triethylamine in 100 ml of dichloromethane, 4.81 g (21.8 mmol) of 4-chlorosulfonylbenzoic acid was added under ice-cooling, followed by overnight stirring at room temperature. After the solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure, 1 N hydrochloric acid was added; the resulting precipitate was filtered, washed with 1 N hydrochloric acid and dried to yield the desired product.
