The solvent and excess methylamine was removed under reduced pressure to afford the imine as a bright yellow powder (quant); 1H NMR (300.13 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 3.35 (s, 3H), 5.51 (s, 2H), 7.61 (m, 4H), 8.55 (m, 4H), 9.48 (s, 1H).
