Procedure
To a solution of 3-tert-butoxycarbonylamino-8-(2,6-dichlorobenzoylamino)-4-(imidazol-1-yl)quinoline (869 mg) in dichloromethane (2 ml) was added trifluoroacetic acid (5 ml) under ice-cooling, and the mixture was stirred for 2 hours at ambient temperature. The mixture was partitioned between dichloromethane and saturated sodium bicarbonate solution. The organic layer was washed with brine, dried over magnesium sulfate and evaporated in vacuo. The residue was crystallized from isopropyl alcohol to give 3-amino-8-(2,6-dichlorobenzoylamino)-4-(imidazol-1-yl)quinoline (581.4 mg).
