Procedure
A mixture of nicotinoyl hydrazine-N-oxide (25.3 g; 0.166 m), acetic acid (85 ml) and acetic anhydride (16.9 g; 0.166 m) was heated at reflux. After one hour, the reaction mixture was cooled and poured into diethylether to yield 32 g of N-acetylnicotinoylhydrazine N-oxide.
