Reaction Steps
A mixture of 431 mg. of 1,3-dihydro-3-(3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl)-1-phenacylimidazo[4,5-b]pyridin-2-one in 30 ml. of methanol was hydrogenated over 25 mg. of platinum oxide. The catalyst was removed by filtration and the filtrate was evaporated to dryness to give a glass which could not be crystallized.
