To a solution of 5-(2-[(3-phenyl)phenyl)-7-methoxy-6-(2-(4-methyl-1,4-diazepan-1-yl)ethoxy)quinazolin-4-ylamino)-1H-indazole-1-carboxylate in CH2Cl2 (2 mL) was added HCl as a 4.0 M solution in 1,4 dioxane (8 mL) and the reaction was stirred at RT for 5 h. The volatiles were removed in vacuo and the crude product was washed with hexane and dried under vacuum to yield 2-[(3-phenyl)phenyl)-N-(1H-indazol-5-yl)-7-methoxy-6-(2-(4-methyl-1,4-diazepan-1-yl)ethoxy)quinazolin-4-amine (0.063 g, 0.105 mmole, 26% over 2 steps). MS 600.4 (M+1). HPLC retention time 5.01 mins.
