Reaction Steps
10.0 g of pseudosaccharine chloride are dissolved in 40 ml of acetone, and 5.1 g of triethylamine (diluted with 5 ml of acetone) are added. The reaction temperature is held at room temperature by ice cooling. After stirring for 10 hours, the resultant precipitate is isolated to give 5.3 g (35%) of 3-triethyl-ammoniobenzoisothiazole 1,1-dioxide chloride.
