11.23 g of ethyl 2-butyryl-3-(2-methoxypyridine-3-yl)aminoacrylate prepared in the above (A) was dissolved in 60 ml so diphenyl ether, and the resulting solution was heated to reflux for 2 hours and cooled to about 50° C. Petroleum ether (200 ml) was added to give precipitates, which were filtered to give 6.3 g (76%) of the titled compound as brown crystals.
