Procedure
To a solution of tert-butyl 4-(5,7-dihydrothieno[3,4-d]pyrimidin-4-yl)piperazine-1-carboxylate (0.41 g, 1.3 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (20 mL) was added HCl (4M in dioxane, 5 mL). The mix was stirred at room temperature for 4 hours. The solvent was removed to afford 4-(piperazin-1-yl)-5,7-dihydrothieno[3,4-d]pyrimidine as HCl salt (0.28 g, 99%). MS (APCI+) [M+H]+ 223.
