A solution of 0.50 g (1.023 mmol) of benzyl(R)-3-(2-benzyloxycarbonylaminoethylsulfanyl)-2-tert-butoxycarbonylaminopropionate in 5 ml of dichloromethane was mixed with the same volume of trifluoroacetic acid and left to stand at RT for 1 h. It was then concentrated and directly reacted further.
