(2-Chloropyrimidin-5-yl)boronic acid (2 g, 13 mmol) and ethyl piperidine-4-carboxylate (1.94 mL, 13 mmol) were dissolved in 1,4-dioxane (20 mL) and heated to 60° C. under microwave irradiation for 1 h. The reaction mixture was concentrated to dryness and partitioned between EtOAc and water. The organic layer was separated, washed with brine, dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated to dryness, to afford the title compound (1.79 g, 51%) as a yellow gum. Method C HPLC-MS: MH+ m/z 280, RT 0.94 minutes (89%).
