After 2-isopropylsulfanyl-5-methyl-pyridine-3-carbonitrile (0.186 g, 0.97 mmol) obtained in Step A was dissolved in water (0.4 mL) and DMSO (0.04 mL), KOH (0.76 g) was added thereto, and the mixture was stirred at 100° C. for 16 hours. After the termination of the reaction, 6N HCl aqueous solution was added thereto to adjust the pH of the reactant to 2, and the mixture was extracted with EtOAc. The organic layer was separated, dried with MgSO4, and concentrated under reduced pressure to obtain the title compound (0.15 g, 73%).
