Procedure

Potassium carbonate (0.143 g, 1.04 mmol) was added at room temperature to a stirred suspension of 287a) (0.3 g, 0.52 mmol) in acetonitrile/methanol (1:1, 9.6 mL) and the mixture was stirred for 1 h. The solvents were evaporated and the residue was purified by column chromatography [alumina; dichloromethane with 1% methanol] and washed with ether. Pink solid. Yield: 0.12 g (48% of theory)
