In the manner described in Example 16A Step 4, methyl 2-amino-5-(3-chloropropoxy)-4-methoxybenzoate (6.0 g, 21.9 mmol) in EtOAc from the previous step was reacted with formamidine hydrochloride as in Example 16A Step 4 to give 6-(3-chloropropoxy)-4-hydroxy-7-methoxyquinazoline (4.48 g, 16.7 mmol, 76%). 1H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 12.10 (br s, 1H), 8.00 (s, 1H), 7.47 (s, 1H), 7.15 (s, 1H), 4.19 (t, 2H), 3.97 (s, 3H), 3.81 (t, 2H), 2.27-2.19 (m, 2H); LC-MS (ESI) m/z 269 (M+H)+.
