Procedure
To 1.0 g of 2-hydroxy-4-(2-pyridylmethoxy)benzaldehyde were successively added 30 mL of acetonitrile, 4.26 g of cesium carbonate and 0.85 g of 4-(2-chloroethyl)morpholine hydrochloride. The mixture was stirred at 90° C. for 2 hours. To the reaction mixture, 50 mL of water and 150 mL of AcOEt were added, and the organic layer was separated. The obtained organic layer was dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated to give 1.56 g of the title compound in quantitative yield.
