To a solution of 2,4-bis-benzyloxy-5-isopropenyl-N,N-di-prop-2-ynyl-benzamide (0.940 g, 2.1 mmol) in ethyl acetate (2 mL) was added 3-butyn-1-ol (0.30 mL, 4.0 mmol) and RhCl(PPh3)3 (0.162 g, 0.17 mmol). The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 24 hours, then loaded directly onto a silica gel column, eluting with 7:3 ethyl acetate:heptane to give the desired product (0.444 g, 38% yield). LC/MS: m/z 520.25 [M+H]+
