A solution of 5-(3-iodo-1-tosyl-1H-indol-5-yl)-N-(4-methoxybenzyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-amine (0.50 g, 0.811 mmol) and TFA (2.0 mL, 26.9 mmol) was heated in a microwave at 100° C. for 8 min. The solvent was removed in vacuo and the residue was dissolved in DCM and washed with sat. NaHCO3. The organic layer was dried, filtered and concentrated to give the crude material. MS (ESI, pos. ion) m/z: 497 (M+1).
