Procedure

The process according to claim 9 which comprises reacting 5-acetyl-6-methyl-2(1H)-pyridinone with dimethylformamide dimethyl acetal to produce 5-acetyl-6-(2-dimethylaminoethenyl)-2(1H)-pyridinone.
