Procedure
A mixture of said product (6.35 g) obtained in Step (a) and conc.hydrochloric acid-water (1:1) mixture (50 ml) is refluxed over a period of 20 hours. The reaction mixture is concentrated in vacuo to give 4-[4-chloro-2-(2-fluorobenzoyl)anilino]piperidine hydrochloride (5.51 g) as crystals melting at 225° to 228° C.
