4-Allyloxy-3-allylbenzoic acid methyl ester was prepared by reacting 3-allyl-4-hydroxybenzoic acid methyl ester (Example 49, Step 2) with allyl bromide following Method C in 93% yield. The reaction was conducted at room temperature for 16 h and the resulting product was used without further purification.
