The title compound (12.3 mg, 37%, yellow oil) was prepared from methyl sulfonic acid 1-[2-(3-chlorophenyl)-2H-tetrazol-5-yl]-ethyl ester (27.7 mg, 0.091 mmol) using potassium carbonate (13.8 mg, 0.100 mmol) and 1-ethoxycarbonyl piperazine (13.3 uL, 0.091 mmol) in acetonitrile (4 mL) at 80° C. overnight. The product was purified was by chromatography using a silica SPE tube (10% MeOH/CH2Cl2) followed by a second chromatography using a silica SPE tube (5% MeOH/CH2Cl2). 1H NMR (CDCl3) δ (ppm): 8.17 (s, 1H), 8.07 (dt, 1H), 7.50 (m, 2H), 4.29 (q, 1H), 4.10 (q, 2H), 3.52 (m, 4H), 2.56 (m, 4H), 1.64 (d, 3H), 1.24 (t, 3H).
