A mixture of 1-(1-chloro-6-methoxy-4-phenylisoquinolin-3-yl)-N,N-dimethylmethanamine (31 mg), 1 mL DMSO, and 16 mg CuCN was stirred at 140 C for 3 h. The solution was cooled and purified directly by reverse-phase HPLC to give the titled compound.
