A mixture of 7-(benzyloxy)-4-chloro-6-fluoroquinazoline (1.20 g, 4.16 mmol) and 2-(4-amino-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)-N-(2,3-difluorophenyl)acetamide (1.05 g, 4.16 mmol) in isopropanol (20 ml) was heated at 80° C. for 10 minutes and then allowed to cool to room temperature. The mixture was diluted with diethyl ether and then filtered to give 2-(4-{[7-(benzyloxy)-6-fluoroquinazolin-4-yl]amino}-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)-N-(2,3-difluorophenyl)acetamide hydrochloride (1.96 g, 87% yield) as a yellow solid:
