Procedure
(R)-(+)-N-(1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridin-4-yl)-4-(1-aminoethyl)benzamide dihydrochloride 3/2 hydrate (8.5 g) obtained in Reference Example 1 was dissolved in water (50 mL) and 1N—NaOH aqueous solution was added dropwise while stirring under ice-cooling. The precipitated crystals were collected by filtration and dried (warm air: 60° C., 10 hrs) to give a free base form (6.2 g).
