Prepared in analogy to that of 4,5-dibromo-2-bromomethyl-1-phenyl-1H-pyrrole-3-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (Example 1(a)) from 1-benzyl-2-methyl-1H-pyrrole-3-carboxylic acid ethyl ester; the title product, 1H NMR (200 MHz, CDCl3): δ (ppm)=7.30 (m, 3H), 7.00 (m, 2H), 5.40 (s, 2H), 4.77 (s, 2H), 4.35 (q, 2H, J=6.8 Hz), 1.40 (t, 3H, J=6.8 Hz).
