Prepared in analogy to that of 4-bromo-2-bromomethyl-5-(4-fluoro-phenyl)-1-phenyl-1H-pyrrole-3-carboxylic acid ethyl ester from 2-Methyl-1-phenyl-1H-indole-3-carboxylic acid ethyl ester. The title compound, 1H NMR (200 MHz, CDCl3): δ (ppm)=8.21 (d, 1H), 7.6-6.9 (m, 8H), 4.89 (s, 2H), 4.47 (q, 2H, J=7.4 Hz), 1.50 (q, 3H, J=7.4 Hz).
