A mixture of 7-cyano-4-hydroxy-1-phenyl-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-c]pyridine-5-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (206 mg), acetic anhydride (0.127 mL), and triethyl amine (0.187 mL) in dichloromethane (2 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 1 h; then the mixture was concentrated, the residue was purified with column to give the title compound (201 mg). The title compound, ESI MS (m/z): 350 (M+H)+.
