Reaction Steps
4-(2-Pyridyl)benzaldehyde (15 g, 0.082 mol) was dissolved in ethanol (150 mL) and treated with t-butyl carbazate (10.3 g, 0.078 mol) at 80° C. for 4 h. The mixture was combined with water (200 mL), the solids were filtered, washed with water, and dried under vacuum to give 22.5 g (92%) of the title compound.
