Procedure
Reaction of 3-hydroxy-5-methylpyrazole with 5-chloro-2-nitroanisole was carried out in the same manner as Example 3, to give a yellow viscous substance of 5-methyl-3-(3-methoxy-4-nitrophenyloxy)pyrazole (yield: 13.2%). 1H-NMR (CDCl3, TMS, ppm): δ 2.34 (s, 3H), 3.93 (s, 3H), 5.74 (s, 1H), 6.70 (dd, J=2.4 and 9.1 Hz, 1H), 6.85 (d, J=2.4 Hz, 1H), 7.95 (d, J=9.1 Hz, 1H), 9.45 (br s, 1H).
