In particular, for the preparation of the KNN solution, 0.87 g potassium acetate powder (CH3COOK) (Aldrich) and 0.73 g of sodium acetate powder (CH3COONa) (Aldrich) were dissolved separately in 10.6 mL of 2-methoxyethanol (2-MOE) solvent (Sigma-Aldrich). These two solutions were then mixed together to form a potassium-sodium acetate solution. Minor excesses of potassium acetate powder and sodium acetate powder were added into the potassium-sodium acetate solution to compensate for the loss of potassium and sodium during the subsequent heat treatment processes. 4 mL of niobium ethoxide ((CH3CH2O)5Nb) (Aldrich) was then added to the potassium-sodium acetate solution and dissolved completely to form a (K0.5Na0.5)NbO3 (KNN) solution.
