0.23 g (0.93 mMol) 3-bromo-6-chloro-2-methyl-imidazo[1,2-b]pyridazine obtained from Example 1 is dissolved in 2 ml concentrated acetic acid and treated with 1.39 mMol elemental bromine. From the reaction mixture crystallizes out after a little while 3-bromo-6-chloro-2-methyl-imidazo[1,2-b]pyridazine dibromide. This is filtered off and dried. Yield 0.38 g, (89.4%), M.pt 217°-220°.
