2.5 g (9.2 mmol) of 1-methyl-2-oxo-4-(3-acetoxyoctyl)-imidazolidine (Example 11) are dissolved in 80 ml of absolute toluene, 10 g of beach sand are added and the mixture is warmed to 90° C., with stirring. 2.50 g of P4S10.anisole are then added and stirring is continued at 90° C. for 2 hours. The reaction mixture is filtered, the residue on the filter is washed with toluene and the toluene phase is concentrated. The residue is chromatographed on silica gel in cyclohexane/ethyl acetate 1:1.
