Reaction Steps
A solution of 0.81 g of 2(R)-[2-benzamido-1(R)-(tert-butoxycarbonyl)ethyl]-2′-benzyloxycarbonyl-4-methylvalerohydrazide in 10 ml of ethanol was hydrogenated in the presence of 0.080 g of 10% palladium-on-carbon for 4 hours. The catalyst was removed by filtration and evaporation gave 0.59 g of 2(R)-[2-benzamido-1(R)-(tert-butoxycarbonyl)ethyl]-4-methylvalerohydrazide in the form of a white solid.
