Procedure

Prepared by the procedure described in Example 26 from 2.8 g (0.0074 mole) of 3-ethoxy-5-methoxy-1-phenyl-N-1H-tetrazol-5-yl-1H-indole-2-carboxamide and 1.3 g (0.0075 mole) of L-arginine, except that the solvent was ethanol rather than methanol. There was obtained 2.6 g (63% yield) of the arginine salt product, analytically pure containing 1.0 equivalent of water of hydration, mp 165° C.-dec.
