Procedure

The compound obtained in (A) was dissolved in 50 ml of acetone, and 670 mg (4.47 mmol) of sodium iodide was added. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 30 minutes. The reaction solution was poured into ice water, and extracted with ethyl acetate. The extracted solution was washed with a 5% sodium thiosulfate aqueous solution, with water and with a saturated sodium chloride aqueous solution, then dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate and concentrated under reduced pressure, whereby the above identified compound was obtained as a powdery substance.
