633 mg (1.98 mmol) of 5,6-difluoro-3-[1-(3-nitrophenyl)ethyl]-3H-benzoxazol-2-one are dissolved in 10 ml of THF and hydrogenated under a hydrogen atmosphere using 700 mg of Raney nickel (water-wet). After 24 h, the reaction solution is filtered, the filtrate is evaporated to dryness, and the residue is crystallised from diethyl ether/petroleum ether.
