To a stirred solution of tert-butyl 4-(3-methyl-2-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-imidazo[4,5-b]pyridin-1-yl)piperidine-1-carboxylate from Step B (73 mg, 0.22 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (5 mL) was added trifluoroacetic acid (2 mL). The resulting mixture was stirred at ambient temperature for 1 h then concentrated in vacuo to give the title compound. MS: m/z=233 (M+1).
