To a stirred solution of 5-[2-benzyloxy-4-(1,2-dibromo-2-phenylethyl)-phenyl]-1,1-dioxo-1,2,5-thiadiazolidin-3-one (25 mg, 0.043 mmol) in MeOH/methylene chloride (1:1, 4 mL) is added NaOMe (0.17 mL, 0.086 mmol, 0.5M in THF). The solution is stirred at RT for 2 h and the solvent is removed under reduced pressure to give the title compound as a yellow solid.
