To a solution of (3-{3-benzyloxy-4-[1,1,4-trioxo-5-(2-trimethylsilanylethyl)-1,2,5-thiadiazolidin-2-yl]-phenyl}-propyl)-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (6.0 g, 10.4 mmol) (from Example 57, step B) in 20 mL of CH2Cl2 is added trifluoroacetic acid (5.0 mL). The mixture stirred for 1 h and then the solvent is removed under reduced pressure to afford the title compound as an orange oil.
