Similar procedure as Example 2, 2-methyl-7-oxo-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-1H-indole-3-carboxylic acid (S4) 0.2 g (1.0 mmol) and 2-aminoethanol 0.13 g (2.1 mmol) was reacted. The reaction solution was concentrated and purified by a silica gel column, eluted with CH2Cl2/MeOH (10:1), to give 0.20 g (85%) of the titled compound as a white solid.
