By following the general procedures II and III using 12.9 g of florfenicol and 6.9 g of N-Boc glycine, the prodrug (13.2 g, 80% yield) was obtained as white powder after the crude solids were dried under reduced pressure at 50° C. for 6 days; H1-NMR (DMSO-d6), δ=3.2 ppm (m, 3H), 3.9 ppm (s, 2H), 4.3-4.7 ppm (m, 3H), 6.1 ppm (s, 1H), 6.8 ppm (s, 1H), 7.7 ppm (d, 2H), 7.9 ppm (d, 2H), 8.6 ppm (br, 3H), 9.4 ppm (d, 1H).
